Moreover, the application extends to the transformation of an existing quarry on the site. The intention is to fill the quarry with stones and soil, designated as inert soil and stones under the EWC class 17 05 04. This filled quarry will serve as an additional recreational area intended for the benefit of the future residents of the proposed housing development, along with other associated site works.
The planning application, submitted on March 26, is currently under review by the Laois County Council. The council is expected to deliberate on the proposal and reach a decision by May 20.
