Construction of Nearly 100 Dwellings Set to Begin in Castleisland

Construction developments in the Castleisland-Corca Dhuibhne Municipal District are poised to take a significant leap forward with the commencement of nearly 100 dwellings this year. Insights shared during a recent municipal district meeting shed light on the progress expected in the housing sector, with various projects reaching planning and construction stages.

Construction is on the horizon for a variety of housing units across different locations within the district, promising increased residential options for the community. Let’s delve into the details of the upcoming construction projects and their timelines.

The housing directorate report reveals that a total of 103 dwellings are currently in the planning and design phase within the Corca Dhuibhne MD. Out of these, 91 units are projected to kick off construction activities in 2024, marking a significant step towards addressing the region’s housing needs.

In Ballybeg, Dingle, the construction of 34 homes is scheduled to commence in October. This development comprises 22 one-bedroom units and twelve two-bedroom units, with an anticipated completion timeline by December 2025, enriching the housing landscape of the area.

At Springfield, Ballyoughtragh, Milltown, the construction of 15 turnkey dwellings was set to begin in March. Additionally, plans are underway to commence the construction of another 34 units in the third quarter of the year, while 12 more units are currently in the design phase, highlighting the concerted efforts to expand the housing inventory in the locality.

A single rural dwelling in Rahinnane, Ventry, is earmarked to commence construction in August, contributing to the rural housing landscape. Simultaneously, ongoing projects in the district, including the completion of five dwellings this year, reflect the continuous momentum in fulfilling the housing demands of the community.

Several housing units are nearing completion, with a two-bedroom apartment in Dingle and a three-bedroom home in Gneeveguilla expected to be finished by the end of this month. Furthermore, a single rural dwelling in Carrigcannon, Lyreacrumpane, is on track for completion in April, while two three-bedroom dwellings at An Pairc, Gneeveguilla, are projected to be finalized by June, adding to the housing options available in the district.

The progress in construction initiatives within the Castleisland-Corca Dhuibhne MD signifies a positive stride towards meeting the growing housing requirements of the community. As these projects unfold, they are set to enhance the residential landscape and provide much-needed accommodation options for residents.
