The Codling Wind Park development team has announced that it will provide “exclusive updates” on its Irish Sea project during a three-day public event in Wicklow in mid-April. The event will offer attendees the chance to explore the final designs of the wind park before the planning application is lodged.

Situated 13 to 22 kilometres off the Co Wicklow coast between Greystones and Wicklow Harbour, the wind park is a joint venture between Fred Olsen Seawind and EDF Renewables. Once operational, it is projected to generate up to 1,450 megawatts (MW) of electricity, which is sufficient to power approximately 1.2 million homes and contribute to Ireland’s 2030 offshore wind energy targets.

In addition to showcasing the project’s design, the team will also provide information on the community benefit fund and guide interested parties on the application process. Moreover, participants will have the opportunity to virtually immerse themselves in the envisioned Codling Wind Park through virtual reality experiences.

The public event is scheduled to take place on April 16th, 17th, and 18th at the Wicklow town library from 10 am to 4 pm, offering an informative and interactive platform for stakeholders to learn more about the Codling Wind Park project.
