Dáil Schedules Key Planning and Infrastructure Bills for Progress

The Dáil has set timetables for crucial legislation including the Planning and Development (Amendment) Bill 2026 and the Dublin Airport (Passenger Capacity) Bill 2026.

The Dáil has scheduled key planning, infrastructure, and property legislation for debate and progression during the week of 30 June 2026.

Deputy Mary Butler, the Minister of State at the Department of the Taoiseach, moved the Order of Business outlining the legislative timetable.

Planning and Development (Amendment) Bill 2026

The Second Stage of the Planning and Development (Amendment) Bill 2026 is scheduled for Thursday. Under the agreed arrangements, debate on this stage will be limited to a maximum of 3 hours and 34 minutes, concluding after the first round of statements. Any division claimed on this stage will be taken immediately prior to the Committee Stage.

Dublin Airport and Strategic Gas Reserve Bills

Two key infrastructure bills are scheduled for Committee and remaining Stages on Tuesday, with debate on each restricted to a maximum of two hours:

  • **Dublin Airport (Passenger Capacity) Bill 2026:** The Dáil discharged the previous order referring this bill to the Select Committee on Transport. Instead, its Third Stage will be taken in Committee of the whole Dáil.
  • **Development (Strategic Gas Reserve) Bill 2026:** This bill will also progress through its Committee and remaining Stages, with the two-hour limit concluding with a single question from the Chair incorporating only amendments set down or accepted by the Minister for Climate, Energy and the Environment.

Property Buyer's Legal Pack

Additionally, a motion regarding the restoration of the Seller’s Legal Pack for Property Buyers Bill 2021 is scheduled to be moved on Tuesday without debate.
