Joint Committee completes consideration of eight planning regulations

The Joint Committee on Housing, Local Government and Heritage has completed its consideration of seven exempted development regulations and one outdoor event licensing regulation.

An Cathaoirleach, Senator Mark Daly, has confirmed to the Seanad that the Joint Committee on Housing, Local Government and Heritage has finished its work on several new planning regulations.

In a message delivered to the Seanad, it was confirmed that the Joint Committee completed its considerations of the following measures:

  • The Planning and Development (Exempted Development (Act of 2000)) Regulations 2026
  • The Planning and Development (Exempted Development (Act of 2000) (No. 2) Regulations 2026
  • The Planning and Development (Exempted Development (Act of 2000) (No. 3) Regulations 2026
  • The Planning and Development (Exempted Development (Act of 2000) (No. 4) Regulations 2026
  • The Planning and Development (Exempted Development (Act of 2000) (No. 5) Regulations 2026
  • The Planning and Development (Exempted Development (Act of 2000) (No. 6) Regulations 2026
  • The Planning and Development (Exempted Development (Act of 2000) (No. 7) Regulations 2026
  • The Planning and Development (Licensing of Outdoor Events) Regulations 2026

This update signals that these eight pieces of planning secondary legislation have successfully passed through this stage of committee examination.
