Seanad sets timeline for Planning and Development (Amendment) Bill 2026

The Seanad has scheduled the Committee and Remaining Stages of the Planning and Development (Amendment) Bill 2026 as part of its order of business.

Seanad Éireann has scheduled the Committee and Remaining Stages of the Planning and Development (Amendment) Bill 2026 to be debated.

During a Seanad session outlining the Order of Business, Senator Fiona O'Loughlin detailed the legislative agenda. Under the scheduled business, the Planning and Development (Amendment) Bill 2026 was set to be taken up at 3:45 p.m., with proceedings ordered to conclude by 5:30 p.m.

According to the agreed procedures, the final vote on this stage of the Bill is to restrict amendments to only those set down or accepted by the Government.

Additionally, the Seanad noted the referral to committee of a motion regarding the Planning and Development (Exempted Development (Act of 2000)) (No.3) Regulations 2026. This motion was scheduled to be taken at the conclusion of the Order of Business without debate.
