Development description
An integrated constructed wetland (icw) over a total area of 24.1228ha located within the existing wop adf site, including formation of wetland cells, associated works and access roads using on site soils. The development will include landscaping both within the wetland cells and surrounding area. The purpose of the icw is for the management and treatment of leachate arising from the adf, which is planned as part of their closure, restoration and aftercare management plan. Discharge waters following treatment through the icw will flow via an existing discharge point at the gowlan river at derrylahan. Wop station and the adf are licenced by the environmental protection agency under an industrial emissions (ie) licence (ref. P0611-02). A natura impact statement (nis) has been prepared for the purposes of this project
