The upgrade of the existing wastewater treatment plant, comprising of the replacement of the existing inlet pumps with new larger pumps; the decommissioning of the existing inlet works; the construction of a new inlet screening works area with greater capacity than existing inlet screening works, anoxic and aeriation tanks, a clarifier, a stormwater storage tank, a new chemical dosing system consisting of 2 no. Above-ground storage tanks and associated equipment, a kiosk to house control equipment and a flow splitting chamber (all above ground); the construction of a new esb mv substation and customer switch room building; and ancillary development including the widening of the existing vehicular entrance to the facility from the access road, the provision of new internal concrete roadway, footpaths and hardstanding areas, associated underground chambers, cabling and piping, internal site lighting, fencing, site landscaping and all associated site development works. The associated development works will include the creation of an approx. 1,250m2 floodwater compensatory storage area and the raising of approximately 2,740m2 of lands for flood prevention purposes at the wwtp extension site. A natura impact statement has been prepared in respect of this planning application
