Friday 17 July 2026

An Bord Pleanála has published the oral hearing agenda for the Uisce Éireann Compulsory Purchase (UÉ Growth and Development - Ardaun Network Extension) Order, 2026.

An Bord Pleanála has scheduled an oral hearing to examine the Uisce Éireann Compulsory Purchase (UÉ Growth and Development - Ardaun Network Extension) Order, 2026.

The hearing will provide an opportunity for Uisce Éireann and objectors to make further submissions and allow the inspector to seek clarification on relevant issues and objections. Under the scheduled agenda, Uisce Éireann will present a brief overview of the compulsory purchase order, including the legislative basis for the acquisition application, a project description, and a justification for the land acquisition detailing the alternatives considered. The utility will also have time to respond to written submissions from objectors.

Submissions will be heard from objectors or their representatives, with Leo Maher, Ignatius Foy, and Geraldine Foy listed on the agenda. The scheduled proceedings also allocate time for questioning between the parties, allowing objectors to question Uisce Éireann, Uisce Éireann to question the objectors, and the inspector to seek clarification from both sides.

An Bord Pleanála noted that there is no obligation on any party to make a submission or ask questions at the hearing. All written submissions already received will be considered by the inspector and the Commission.
