Wednesday 16 September 2026

An Bord Pleanála has scheduled the oral hearing agenda for Louth County Council’s proposed compulsory purchase of lands on Greenore Road in Carlingford.

An Bord Pleanála has published the oral hearing agenda for Louth County Council’s compulsory purchase of lands at Greenore Road in Carlingford.

The case, reference ACP-324169-26, relates to land acquisitions for the Carlingford Public Realm Scheme.

According to the published agenda, the oral hearing will address:

  • An overview of the public realm works and the Compulsory Purchase Order (CPO).
  • The justification for acquiring the land, including alternatives considered.
  • Louth County Council’s response to written submissions from objectors.
  • Questioning between the participating parties, if required.

The Board stated that the hearing’s purpose is to allow parties to make further submissions and enable the Inspector to clarify issues and objections. Because all previously submitted written objections will be fully considered by the Inspector and the Commission, parties do not need to repeat these points during the hearing. Attendees are requested to ensure all presentations and questions remain relevant to the nature of the CPO.
