An Bord Pleanála sets oral hearing agenda for Laois County Council compulsory purchase order

Friday 17 July 2026

An Bord Pleanála has published the oral hearing agenda for Laois County Council Compulsory Purchase Order No. 11/2025.

An Bord Pleanála has published the official agenda for the upcoming oral hearing regarding the Laois County Council Compulsory Purchase Order (CPO) No. 11/2025.

The scheduled proceedings will begin with a submission from Laois County Council lasting a maximum of 30 minutes. This presentation will cover an overview of the CPO and notices, details of previous engagement with the objector, and the local authority's justification for the acquisition, including any alternative options that were considered. The council will also address any written submissions made by the objector.

Following the council's submission, a presentation of up to 30 minutes will be made by the objector, Michael Feane, or his representatives.

A 45-minute questioning window is scheduled to allow the objector and Laois County Council to question each other, and to permit the inspector to seek clarification from both parties before the formal closing of the hearing.

According to An Bord Pleanála, the purpose of the oral hearing is to provide an opportunity for all participating parties to make further submissions and to allow the inspector to clarify relevant issues and objections. Written submissions already received will be fully considered by the inspector.
