Thursday 10 September 2026

An Coimisiún Pleanála has outlined the agenda and procedural rules for the upcoming oral hearing concerning Carlow County Council's compulsory acquisition case ACP-324282-26.

An Coimisiún Pleanála has set the oral hearing agenda for Carlow County Council's compulsory acquisition under case reference ACP-324282-26.

The purpose of the upcoming hearing is to provide an opportunity for participating parties to present further submissions and to allow the planning inspector to seek clarification on objections and outstanding relevant issues. Parties attending the session will also be permitted to ask questions or seek clarification regarding any submissions made during the hearing.

There is no obligation for any party to make an oral submission or ask questions of others. The Commission confirmed that written submissions already received will be fully considered by the inspector and the Board, meaning that previous written statements do not need to be repeated on the day.

Attendees have been reminded that the Commission has no role or jurisdiction in assessing or determining financial compensation. As a result, no discussions regarding compensation payments will be permitted during the proceedings. Additionally, the Commission may direct that a contribution towards costs be paid to persons appearing at the hearing.
