An Coimisiún Pleanála upholds refusal for 44 Dundalk homes

Monday 17 August 2026

An Coimisiún Pleanála has upheld Louth County Council's refusal of planning permission for a proposed development of 44 new homes at Doylesfort Road in Dundalk.

An Coimisiún Pleanála has upheld Louth County Council's refusal of planning permission for 44 new homes at Doylesfort Road in Dundalk.

The decision by the planning appeals body, formerly known as An Bord Pleanála, maintains the local authority's original stance to reject the residential project.

This decision is distinct from another 44-home application in the Dundalk area at Lower Point Road, which was granted permission with conditions on 18 December 2024 under reference case 319738. The ruling on the Doylesfort Road site finalises the council's refusal to authorise the development.
