Financial statements from the National Paediatric Hospital Development Board reveal €108 million has been secured by BAM Ireland across thousands of project claims.
BAM Ireland has secured an additional €108 million in payments for the National Children's Hospital project following thousands of claims.
According to the 2025 financial statements for the National Paediatric Hospital Development Board (NPHDB), the contractor submitted 3,407 substantiated claims amounting to €942.8 million, which included five inflation claims. The NPHDB, the State entity tasked with delivering the National Children’s Hospital (NCH), spent €2.64 million during 2025 on legal fees and defending against these claims.
As of 31 March of this year, the Employer’s Representative (ER) had determined 3,165 of the 3,407 claims. This process resulted in a Net Contract Sum increase of €52.36 million, alongside contract-related inflation costs of €48.74 million, totaling €101.1 million.
A spokesperson for the board clarified that the total value of claims submitted by BAM should not be confused with either the amounts ultimately determined to be payable or an increase in the approved project budget.
