A snap poll at the Construction Industry Federation annual summit revealed that 61% of voting attendees lack confidence in the state's target of 300,000 homes by 2030.
A majority of builders surveyed at a national construction summit are not confident that the government's target of 300,000 homes by 2030 is achievable.
During a snap poll conducted at the Construction Industry Federation (CIF) annual summit at Croke Park, 61% of voting attendees stated they were not confident that the state's target of 300,000 homes by 2030 can be reached. Conversely, only 2% of those polled said they were very confident, while 22% described themselves as somewhat confident. The remaining participants were unsure.
The poll was conducted via the event's website at the conclusion of the summit, titled 'Ready to deliver: Ireland’s decade of construction'. The conference brought together construction industry chiefs, civil servants, and representatives from related sector companies to discuss the feasibility of national housing and infrastructure plans.
The vote occurred shortly after Minister James Browne addressed the summit to discuss the government's development ambitions.
