Cork apartment pipeline expands with major docklands and urban schemes

Cork City is experiencing a concentration of new high-density apartment developments across its core and docklands, led by public bodies and private developers.
Major high-density apartment developments are reshaping Cork City's core and docklands, driven by public agencies and private developers. This concentration of urban housing projects marks a renewal of apartment construction activity in Cork following a prolonged period of limited delivery.
Key activity is concentrated in several major areas, including Horgan's Quay on the north side of the river, Centre Park Road on the south side, and Blackrock village. The pipeline comprises projects supported by the Land Development Agency (LDA), Cork City Council, approved housing bodies, and private developers.
Among the active developments is Cairn's 'The View' in Douglas, which is being progressed under the State's Croí Cónaithe scheme. Other major schemes contributing to the city's changing skyline include the Horgan's Quay development, which is designed to provide 302 apartments, alongside the Railyard and Creamfields developments. Together, the Railyard and Creamfields schemes are designated to deliver more than 800 new homes to the area.
