
Dáil receives motions to approve seven new exempted development regulations

The Minister of State has moved motions in Dáil Éireann to approve seven separate draft exempted development regulations and new outdoor event licensing rules.
The Minister of State at the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage, Deputy John Cummins, has moved motions seeking Dáil approval for seven draft exempted development regulations.
These proposals, introduced under the Planning and Development (Exempted Development (Act of 2000)) Regulations 2026, span from the primary regulations through to the "No. 7" iteration. Draft copies of these measures were formally laid before Dáil Éireann on 2 July and 14 July 2026.
Additionally, Deputy Cummins moved a separate motion to approve draft regulations concerning the Planning and Development (Licensing of Outdoor Events) Regulations 2026. This outdoor event licensing draft was previously submitted to the Dáil on 2 July 2026.
