Thursday 16 July 2026
The Dáil has moved to refer new proposed regulations concerning exempted development and the licensing of outdoor events to a Joint Oireachtas Committee.
The Dáil has moved to refer two newly proposed planning regulations to a Joint Oireachtas Committee for consideration.
Minister of State at the Department of the Taoiseach, Deputy Mary Butler, moved a motion to refer the proposed approval of the Planning and Development (Exempted Development (Act of 2000)) Regulations 2026 and the Planning and Development (Licensing of Outdoor Events) Regulations 2026 to the Joint Committee.
Under the proposed arrangements outlined during the Order of Business, a previous order from 7 July 2026 referring these motions was discharged in favour of a revised referral motion. The revised referral to the Joint Committee was designated to be taken without debate.
Additionally, motions regarding the formal approval of both the Planning and Development (Exempted Development (Act of 2000)) Regulations 2026 and the Planning and Development (Licensing of Outdoor Events) Regulations 2026 by Dáil Éireann have been scheduled on the parliamentary agenda.
