Drawdowns under the First Home Scheme have increased as thousands of buyers allow the State to take an equity stake in their homes.
Reporting by Charlie Weston in the Irish Independent confirms that the average financial support provided to successful applicants under the scheme is around €67,000.
Under the scheme, home purchasers allow the State to hold an equity share in their residence to gain entry to the property ladder. The initiative, led by chief executive Michael Broderick, has seen an increase in completed drawdowns as thousands of participants opt for the equity-sharing arrangement.
