Government to consider €2,000 boiler scrappage grant for homes built before 2021

The Energy Minister is set to bring a proposal to Cabinet next week for a new €2,000 boiler scrappage grant aimed at homes built before 2021.

The planned scheme will be presented to government ministers for formal consideration. Under the initial details of the proposal, owners of dwellings constructed prior to 2021 can access the €2,000 grant to decommission older boilers.

Further details regarding the administration of the grant and its eligibility criteria are expected to emerge once the scheme is formally brought before the Cabinet.
