Friday 10 July 2026

German renewable energy firm GP JOULE has officially opened its Irish headquarters in Leixlip, County Kildare, as part of plans to deliver 150 megawatts of projects.

German renewable energy firm GP JOULE has officially opened its new Irish headquarters in Leixlip, County Kildare. The opening ceremony for the office was led by an Irish government Minister.

The new Kildare base will serve as the operational headquarters for the company as it seeks to deliver up to 150 megawatts of renewable energy projects across Ireland over the next year.

Meath Solar Farm Proposal

This expansion in Ireland aligns with GP JOULE's broader development strategy, which includes plans for a 190-megawatt solar farm in County Meath.

Known as the Blackhall Solar Farm, the proposed project in County Meath is estimated to cost approximately €200 million. If planning permission is granted for the facility, the solar farm is expected to generate enough electricity to power up to 30,000 homes.
