Irish Main Contractors Launch Standardised Supply Chain Sustainability Assessment

Wednesday 28 October 2026

Seven leading Irish construction contractors have partnered with Supplyo to introduce a common sustainability reporting framework for subcontractors.

Seven major Irish construction firms have launched a standardised framework to unify sustainability reporting across their supply chains.

The Sustainability Common Assessment (SCA) was developed in partnership with delivery partner Supplyo following two years of collaboration between BAM Ireland, Cairn, Collen, John Paul Construction, JJ Rhatigan, Sisk, and Walls Construction.

The initiative targets operational inefficiencies caused by subcontractors and suppliers repeatedly completing varied sustainability questionnaires for different main contractors. Under the central framework, suppliers maintain a single live sustainability record that can be updated continuously and shared across participating contractors.

Operating under a shared-cost structure, suppliers pay an annual subscription fee of €360 plus VAT. The assessment is structured as a developmental mechanism rather than a pass or fail grading exercise.
