Bord na Móna and SSE Renewables have lodged a planning application for an 11-turbine wind farm with turbines up to 200 metres tall on Littleton Bog.
Bord na Móna and SSE Renewables have submitted plans to An Coimisiún Pleanála for an 11-turbine wind farm on Littleton Bog in County Tipperary.
The proposed development, known as the Littleton Wind Farm, is being brought forward by a joint venture entity named Littleton Wind Farm DAC. The planning application was formally lodged on June 15, 2026, following a public information evening that took place in October 2025.
According to the application details, the proposed wind turbines will reach a maximum height of up to 200 metres. The layout of the wind farm incorporates a minimum setback distance of 800 metres from residential properties. This layout is unchanged from the design presented to local residents in September 2025.
To facilitate the construction and maintenance of the wind farm, the development plans call for upgrading approximately 2.95 kilometres of existing internal roads. Additionally, the developers propose to construct 15.45 kilometres of new access roads.
An Coimisiún Pleanála is expected to make a final decision on the planning application by June 2027.
