Seanad refers draft exempted development regulations to Joint Committee

Seanad Éireann has referred proposed draft regulations on exempted development to the Joint Committee on Housing, Local Government and Heritage.
Seanad Éireann has referred a proposal to approve draft planning regulations regarding exempted development to the Joint Committee on Housing, Local Government and Heritage.
Senator Margaret Murphy O'Mahony moved the motion to refer the draft Planning and Development (Exempted Development (Act of 2000)) (No.2) Regulations 2026 to the committee.
The draft regulations were initially laid before Seanad Éireann on 2 July 2026. Under the terms of the referral, which was made in accordance with Standing Order 79(2)(b), the Joint Committee is required to send a message back to the Seanad no later than 15 July 2026.
