Seanad Éireann has referred a proposal to approve draft exempted development regulations to the Joint Committee on Housing, Local Government and Heritage.
Seanad Éireann has agreed to refer a proposal to approve draft planning regulations to the Joint Committee on Housing, Local Government and Heritage.
Senator Margaret Murphy O'Mahony moved the motion to refer the proposed Planning and Development (Exempted Development (Act of 2000)) (No.4) Regulations 2026 to the committee. The draft regulations had previously been laid before Seanad Éireann on 2 July 2026.
Under the referral, which was made in accordance with Standing Order 79(2)(b), the Joint Committee is required to send a message back to the Seanad regarding the proposal no later than 15 July 2026.
