Thursday 16 July 2026

Seanad Éireann has scheduled committee and remaining stages for the Planning and Development (Amendment) Bill 2026 and referral of new exempted development regulations.

Seanad Éireann has set its schedule for key planning legislative matters, including the Planning and Development (Amendment) Bill 2026.

During the Order of Business, Senator Fiona O'Loughlin outlined that the Committee and Remaining Stages of the Planning and Development (Amendment) Bill 2026 were scheduled to be taken. Proceedings on the bill were set to conclude with the putting of one question from the Chair, which would include only amendments set down or accepted by the Government.

Additionally, the Seanad scheduled a motion regarding the Planning and Development (Exempted Development (Act of 2000)) (No.3) Regulations 2026. This motion, which concerns the referral of the regulations to committee, was ordered to be taken without debate following the conclusion of the Order of Business.
