An Coimisiún Pleanála has deferred its planning decision on Statkraft's North Irish Sea Array offshore wind farm until the end of February.

A determination on the proposed Irish Sea wind development had been due last week. However, the planning commission confirmed that it would not be able to deliver a decision on the project until late February.

The North Irish Sea Array application represents a major offshore renewable energy project put forward by Statkraft. The revision extends the statutory assessment window as the planning authority continues its evaluation of the scheme.
