Yamamori Izakaya to close George’s Street site following High Court noise dispute

Thursday 24 September 2026

Yamamori Izakaya has announced its permanent closure at 12 South Great George’s Street by 31 December, following a previous High Court dispute over noise with the neighbouring Hoxton Hotel.

Dublin restaurant and former late-night venue Yamamori Izakaya has announced it will permanently close its premises at 12 South Great George’s Street on 31 December.

The announcement follows a High Court dispute earlier this year between Yamamori and Trinity Hospitality, the leaseholder of the neighbouring Hoxton Hotel. Trinity Hospitality had sought an injunction against the venue over alleged noise nuisance, claiming that late-night music from the premises forced the hotel to close several rooms and caused losses of up to €300,000.

In June, both parties reached an agreement described as "mutually beneficial" to allow them to operate side by side. Under the terms of that agreement, Yamamori Izakaya agreed to wind down its DJ and nightclub operations.

In a social media statement confirming the upcoming closure, the operators of Yamamori Izakaya stated that the search for a new venue remains ongoing, with hopes of delivering positive news in the near future.
