Development description

To develop a motorway service area and rest area adjacent to junction 12 of the m18, which will include service station building with convenience shop, food court, offices, staff facilities, canopy, fuel facilities, parking and circulation space, childrens play area, picnic area and access provision. The development also includes infrastructural works, public lighting, signage, landscaping, electrical substation, storm water runoff petro; interceptor and attenuation system, on site wastewater treatment plant with pumping station and connection to public foul sewer, underground fuel storage tanks, rain water harvesting system, on -site potable water source with secondary connection to public water supply, underground storage tanks for fire- fighting purposes, upgrade to adjacent roundabout, revised access to adjoining agricultural land and ancillary works. The connection to the public sewerage system will be by means of an underground rising main via the townlands of killow, skehanagh and clareabbey, crossing the m18 and in the embankment along the southern side of the n85 national route, crossing the river fergus at the existing overground pipi bridge, to the treatment plant at clareabbey.
