Development description

Permission for development which consists of; the redevelopment of the sportsground involves the following works: phase 1 works-the works in phase 1 involve the replacement of the existing grass playing pitch with a new synthetic surface playing pitch and associated site works including floodlight upgrade works. The works are being carried out within areas of the site which have previously been developed i. E. The current playing pitch and within the carpark as was identified within the phasing drawing included with the original planning application. Phase 2 works - the works in phase 2 constitute the main building works on site which are as follows: 1)the demolition & removal of existing clan terrace, connacht rugby office, maintenance building and training pitches, ancillary temporary cabins and storage facilities, section of boundary wall on college road, existing esb sub-station and switch room, 2)the construction of a new north stand with terracing and seated areas over 4 levels, 3)refurbishment and extension work to the existing south stand, 4)the construction of a new high performance centre (including new indoor synthetic pitch, office accommodation and welfare facilities) ,5)the relocation of vehicular and pedestrian access points, 6)the provision of a new concourse area and new car parking spaces, 7)general hard and soft landscaping works and boundary treatments
