The new building will include a special education needs unit (sen unit) containing 2 no. Sen classrooms, 2 no. Safe base rooms, multi sensory room, central activity room, toilets and shower rooms, linen/sluice room, para educational room, storerooms, an office and ancillary accommodation. The new building will also include 2 no. Mainstream classrooms, a playroom, 4 no. Special education tuition rooms, (set room), 2 no. Offices, boiler-house and toilets and ancillary accommodation, 2 no. Single storey flat roofed link blocks to connect the proposed extension to the senior school to the east and the junior school to the north, the provision of new rooflights to existing classrooms in both the junior and senior schools, the construction of a new retaining wall with palisade fence on top along part of the southern boundary adjacent to an open space area in “the elms” housing estate, the provision of an extended yard area/access road alongside the proposed extension to allow access into the existing playing fields, together with all associated siteworks
