Development description
To construct a sand polishing filter adjacent to an existing wastewater treatment system located in stephenstown north, twomilehouse, co. Kildare and which currently serves residential developments from planning register references: 00/884 & 04/1480 and a commercial development from planning register ref 04/1288. It is proposed to also treat the wastewater from a proposed development of 13 houses, which will increase the daily hydraulic effluent load from 22m3 per day to 36m3 per day. There is an existing discharge to surface water from the on-site wastewater treatment system. It is proposed to decommission the existing outfall to the adjacent stream, & instead, discharge the final treated effluent from the plant to groundwater via the proposed sand polishing filter.
