Development description

Change of use from light industrial warehousing to transfer, processing and storage of a waste paper stream (mainly confidential office waste paper- the major of this will be shredded off the site). The total annual tonnage will be c. 7,000 tpa (c. 583 tpm), which will involve some shredding, bailing and temporary storage of the processed paper bales prior to transfer to off-site reprocessing and recycling facilities. A limited and small amount of shredded computer hard drives will be stored on site approximately 1-2 tonnes per annum or between 50-100 hard drives per month on average. This material amounting to c. 1x240 litre in volume (domestic wheelie bin) will be kept on site and transferred off-site to an appropriate facility for further treatment. Storage of all material will be kept to a minimum on site and processed paper on average will only be kept on site for 24-48hrs before onward transfer off site.
