Extensions comprising new structures ranging from six to nine storeys (plus basement) in height, along the north, east and west faces of the square, tallaght, and forming a new landscaped square, (to be known as millennium square and which will replace old blessington road) between the civic offices and the square town centre. The development will consist of the following uses: 384 apartments, (111 no. 1 bed, 255 no. 2 bed and 18 no. 3 bed) and associated private open space; a 27 bedroom hotel with 1638sq. M. Gross floor area; 23,232sq. M. Retail floorspace, 3690sq. M. Restaurants/bars; 4108sq. M. Office; 1720sq. M. Leisure; a 1617 space multi-storey car park; 15,755sq. M. Storage/ancillary, associated service and circulation areas. The development shall also consist of revisions to the layout of the west car park, relocation of entrance and alterations to existing north facade including demolition of north entrance porch and escape stairs, esb substations, associated landscaping and site works, all on a circa 3.57 hectares site. Planning permission has been granted for a substantially similar proposal, an bord pleanala ref. Pl. 06s. 122018 dated 28th february 2001, south dublin county council ref. S00a/0553. An environmental impact statement will be submitted to the planning authority with this application.
