- Proposed access road. The works will comprise of the following: provision for a new 6m wide bituminous access road including turning area; provision for a new 2m wide raised cycle track and 2m wide footpath; provision for new kerbing and two uncontrolled crossing points with tactile paving incorporated; a public lighting system designed to minimise impact on bats and other nocturnal wildlife; new signs and road markings; provision for a new storm water drainage system; relocation of existing services where required and provision of other services and utilities where necessary; associated landscaping, boundary and planting works. This proposed access road will facilitate the future development of grange castle lands located to the south of the proposed scheme. The grand canal is a proposed natural heritage area and the display drawings are accompanied by (i) appropriate assessment screening report and (ii) environmental screening report which provide supporting environmental information on the proposed scheme.
