Development description
To increase the range and quantity of alternative fuels and alternative raw materials used at the existing ballyconnell cement facility. The development will consist of the following, all of which are proposed within the confines of the existing cement manufacturing plant: 2 no. Liquid fuel tanks located within a bunded area and associated feeding system; 2 no. Meat and bone meal silos and associated feeding system; 2 no. Lime storage silos and associated feeding system; extension to existing solid recovered fuel (srf) storage bays and associated feeding system; upgrade of the existing calciner; a new induced draught fan, 1 no. Fire water retention tank and ancillary works. This application relates to an activity for which an industrial emissions licence applies under the environmental protection act 1992, as amended (industrial emission licence register number p0378-02) (application is also being made to the environmental protection agency for a variation to the existing industrial emissions (ie) licence). An environmental impact statement (eis) and natura impact statement (nis) will be submitted to the planning authority with the planning application
