  • For a minor amendment to planning ref: 23/60009 relating to the permitted substation compound at tullyhaw, ballyconnell, county cavan we are seeking a minor amendment to
  • (a) the site substation, and
  • (b) the temporary site compound. Please see appendix for site location maps and drawings substation relocation is required because
  • The original location conflicts with turbine delivery vehicle swept paths and access gradients as identified during detailed design
  • Significant additional fill would be required to match road levels and overcome existing site contours and drainage constraints
  • The new position avoids a deep field drain, provides a better route for the interconnector cable, and improves both security and health & safety for long-term maintenance access. Temporary compound relocation is required because
  • The approved location has the same gradient and access issues as the original substation site
  • The new location provides safer, more secure access with reduced cut/fill
