Development description

For proposed modifictions to the previously permitted development (k. C. C. Planning ref. No. 18/964) granted by an board pleanala (ref. Abp303329-18) on 7th may 2019 within the existing esb ballynahulla 220/110 kv substation. The modifications will comprise the additional construction of one (1) harmonic filter, one (1) hv circuit breaker (including ct and vt), one (1) mv disconnector and earth switch, two (2) cable sealing ends, two (2) additional lighning masts approximately 25m high and additional lampost lightning. It further includes a retaining wall approximatley 2.5m high, asphalt (non-permeable) surfacing, a 2m high mesh fence and ancillary site works. The development will remain an extension to the existing substation and this extension will have an overall site area (within the planning application boundary) of 1.1 ha. Access will continue to be provided via an existing access on to church road, accessed via the r577. A natura impact statement (nis) accompanies this planning application. This nis comprises a revision and update to the nis submitted with the previous planning application per planning ref. 18/964
