Summary

AI-generated

The project involves importing and depositing approximately 12,000 cubic metres of organic topsoil onto existing barren lands. This 30cm deep layer will raise the land above the floodplain to make it highly productive for agriculture. Existing internal routes and an entrance at Derryguile Road will be used for access.

Development description

Deposit c. 12,000 cubic metres of organic topsoil on existing barren lands located at derrycloney, mountmellick, co. Laois. The area in question rests above the floodplain, and currently is not suitable for agriculture. When the 30cm deep topsoil is in place, the land will be improved and can be highly productive as agricultural land. This proposed planning permission will facilitate an application for an article 27 because it is intended to import the topsoil material from another site. It is proposed to use the existing internal access routes to deposit the topsoil, and to use existing access entrance at the derryguile road for site access
