Development description

A modular battery energy storage system (bess) facility within the footprint of a previously consented construction compound (abp ref. Pl19. Pa0047). Planning permission is sought for a period of 10 years. The facility will consist of up to 28 no. Battery storage modules (up to 13m in length, 3m in width and 3m in height) and ancillary equipment including up to: 28 no. Step-up transformers, 28 no. Air-handling units and all other associated site development works and services, including lightning protection monopoles; column lighting and cctv cameras; internal access roads joining the bess facility with the consented cloncreen wind farm road network; security fencing; site drainage amendments; and underground electrical cable, as required to facilitate the development and will involve the continued use of the consented construction compound. The bess facility will be located entirely within the boundary of the consented cloncreen wind farm and will use existing access arrangements within the wind farm.
