Pursuant to the requirements of the above, notice is hereby given of the proposal to construct the following scheme by south dublin county council: to extend & carry out alterations to clondalkin library, monastery road, clondalkin, dublin
Works to the existing building and its site which is a protected structure include: (i) the introduction of a new vertical circulation route to manage universal access, by means of a lightweight 2 story extension and the demolition of single storey boiler house/ bin store for this proposal; (ii) internal works include 3no. New openings & 1no. Opening of existing door, in external fabric to provide access for circulation; new staff work/storage room to ground floor reading room. New glazed entrance lobby & external door, including upgrading of external fire door, and fire lining of stairs & opening of original door opening to proposed accessible public wc; (iii) upgrade of internal finishes including floor coverings, joinery, shelves & paint work; (iv) conservation and repair work to existing fabric, windows, and replacement where necessary; (v) conservation and repair work to roof, gutters, facias/ soffits & chimneys where required; (vi) upgrading of mechanical & electrical services; (vii) upgrading of external area to front/rear of library, including, lighting, signage & soft landscaping; (viii) all associated ancillary works required to carry out above works. As clondalkin library is an historic building, an architectural impact report is in included as part of this application
