Development description

  • The removal of all existing prefabricated buildings and the demolition of the existing st. Colmcille's junior and senior national schools in order to construct a new 3 storey 64 classroom school building located in the approximate position of the existing junior school main buildings. The total floor area will be to 11,327 sq. M to include a 171 sq. M basement at the northern end. Ancillary areas will include general purpose rooms, libraries, meeting rooms, special education rooms, 3 no. Atriums, junior and senior school administration offices. Playgrounds will be located on the southern and eastern side of the new building and, when the senior school building is demolished, on the northern side. Works will include the rearranging of the access road and car park on the western side accessed from idrone avenue. During the construction period, it is intended to relocate the senior school students in a temporary prefabricated structure at ballyboden st. Endas g. A. A. Grounds, sancta maria college, ballyroan, rathfarnham, dublin
