The royal national lifeboat institution (rnli) seeks permission for development at this site, dunrovin, coosan point, creaghduff, co. Westmeath. The development will consist of the demolition of the existing dwelling, removal of the existing temporary station facilities and vegetation to construct a new purpose built rnli lifeboat station/inland waterways association of ireland (iwai) facility at dunrovin, coosan point, creaghduff, co. Westmeath. The facility with a total gfa of 368sqm will include a single storey boathouse for the lifeboat/2 storey supporting facilities block accommodating, changing crew room workshop with office and iwai single storey facility. The works will include the installation of holding tanks for foul sewage, with proposed vehicle and pedestrian access off the public car park. This application site is located within the lough ree spa (special protection area) designated under the birds directive (2209)147/ec) and sac (special area of conservation) designated under the habitats directive (2009/43/eec). A natura impact statement has been prepared in respect of this planning application.
