Development description

Proposed works to facilitate the delivery of turbine components to the permitted oweninny wind farm phase 3 (ref. No. Pa16.316178). The turbine delivery route (tdr) will originate at the port of entry at killybegs harbour, co. Donegal, run through co. Sligo, co. Leitrim and terminate at the consented oweninny wind farm phase 3 site, co. Mayo. The total length of the tdr is c. 188km of which c. 65km is within co. Donegal, c. 57km in co. Sligo, and c. 36km in co. Mayo. Minor temporary and permanent works are not proposed along this entire route but only at select locations. The total area required for the works in co. Donegal is c. 0.2ha. The development within co. Donegal comprises minor temporary works in the townlands of killybegs, glebe, aghayeevoge, cashelreagh glebe, bruckless, aighan, bruckless and darney. These works are required to accommodate delivery of abnormal indivisible loads (ail) and will consist of (1) laying of temporary load bearing surface at 5 no. Locations, (2) temporary fence removal, temporary removal and relocation of lights at 1 no. Location, (3) temporary removal of bollard at 1 no. Location, (4) temporary removal of gate, wall and chevrons at 1 no. Location, (5) temporary removal of road signals, bollards, lighting columns, wall and fence at 1 no. Location as well as hedgerow and tree trimming, (6) temporary removal of fence and vegetation at 1 no. Location, (7) temporary removal of hedgerows, fence and wall at 1 no. Location, (8) reinstatement of all temporary works areas to previous condition and (10) all associated and ancillary works required for the proposed tdr. Permission is sought for a period of 10 years and separate applications will be made to both sligo and mayo county councils in respect of works required at locations within each county bounds. Minor temporary works in sligo are proposed at carrownacreevy, tanrego west, abbeytown, corhawnagh and carricknagat. Permanent works are proposed at carricknagat. Minor temporary works in mayo are proposed at lecarrow, crossmolina, abbeytown, knockalegan, glebe, gortskeddia, ballina, abbeyhalfquarter, knocknalyre and bunree. Permanent works are proposed at crossmolina. An appropriate assessment screening report (aasr) and natura impact statement (nis) accompany this application
