Development description

Public play trails: in accordance with part xi of the planning and development act 2000 (as amended) and part 8 of the planning and development regulations 2001 (as amended), fingal county council hereby gives notice of the proposed works listed hereunder to be carried out at longstone park, portrane co. Dublin. Local equipped areas for play (leaps), constructed in line with the principles of universal design, to include: i. Approximately 17 no. Pieces of play equipment (11 no. Within northern open space, 6 no. Within the southern open space), predominantly made from robinia timber. Ii. A mixture of natural and synthetic water permeable safety surfacing, varying from sand, engineered wood chip (loose safety surfacing), and tiger mulch (bound safety surfacing). Iii. Natural play opportunities to consist of boulders, logs, and earth mounding using excavated topsoil. Iv. Pathways will be finished in ballylusk gravel. V. Street furniture will include signage, seating, bicycle parking and litter bins. Vi. 1 no. Water drinking station. Vii. Community raised planters. Viii. The boundary of the northern site at the burrow road interface will be upgraded. Ix. The southern site will receive new access points. X. 2 no. Uncontrolled pedestrian crossings. Xi. Landscaping will include wildflower meadows and planting of a minimum of 10 no. Trees. All existing trees and the hedgerow will be protected and retained to result in an overall net gain in biodiversity and tree canopy cover. In accordance with article 81 and article 120 of the planning & development regulations 2001 (as amended), fingal county council has concluded from a preliminary examination that no significant effects on the environment are likely as a result of the proposed development and that an environmental impact assessment is not required. Any person may within 4 weeks from the date of this notice, apply to an coimisiún pleanála for a screening determination as to whether the development would be likely to have significant effects on the environment. Plans and particulars of the proposed development will be available for inspection or purchase at a fee not exceeding the reasonable cost of making a copy from wednesday 4th february 2026 up to and including wednesday 4th march 2026 (excluding bank holidays and weekends) at the following locations
