Development within an application area of ca. 10.05 ha will consist of: (1) establishment of an inert soil waste recovery facility to provide for the importation of ca. 1,047 million tonnes of natural inert waste comprising soil and stone and/or broken rock to backfill the quarry void to a contoured landform that will be in keeping with the surrounding landscape with an agricultural end use. Permission is also sought for: (2) the continued use of the existing entrance from the l7049; (3) continued use of internal access routes; (4) construction of overburden storage and screening areas/mounds; (5) continued use of temporary site office facilities; (6) continued use of the existing wheelwash; (7) continued use of staff welfare facilities; (8) new car parking facilities; (9) new quarantine area; (10) fuel storage container; (11) all ancillary site works and (12) the progressive and phased restoration throughout the life of the development. The development will be carried out on a phased basis over a period of 10 years. The proposed development requires a waste licence from the environmental protection agency.
