Development description

The refurbishment of the existing house, (a protected structure) involving conservation works to existing roofs and chimneys, new timber fenestration, new electrical and mechanical services, new bathroom fit-outs at first floor level, new openings partitions and floors at ground floor level. Included will be the re-roofing of selected stables and ancillary yard buildings. The development will involve the demolition of the existing front porch and the removal of existing, aluminium windows, the removal of one chimney breast, selected internal and external concrete floors and paving, the removal and authorized, safe disposal of asbestos cement and corrugated tar roof cladding from selected stable and other yard buildings. It will include the building of new extensions, comprising a new front porch and portico, two colonnaded screen wings with pavilions, a new belvedere and viewing terrace, and a new conservatory facing into the walled garden. Conservation works will also include selective re-rendering of existing external and internal walls and the selective floor replacement and the re-ventilation of sub-floor voids, as specified in conservation statement. Also included will be various landscaping works including a new graveled forecourt and paved areas front and back, together with the restoration and replanting of the walled garden.
