All dredged materials will, after temporary storage, be hauled away for disposal by a licensed contractor. The project includes for the provision of a temporary site compound and a temporary bunded storage area, for dredged material, in an existing yard located on the south side of the canal. A small temporary bunded storage will be sited close to the north-east end of the lock chamber to temporarily store dredged material from the entrance to the river boyne. The works will also include the construction of a temporary causeway across the canal, at a point about 260 metres to the east of fullam's bridge, to enable the haulage of all dredged materials from the tow path area to the temporary bunded storage area. The works will also require the cutting down of all trees and saplings along the south side of the tow-path (the north side of the canal) and some trees along the north side of the tow-path, west of fullam's bridge, to facilitate dredging and safe navigation. The dredging works will also include the removal of a number of small trees, saplings and dead wood from the bed of the canal. Trees will not be cut down within a distance of 30 metres east of the suspension bridge at bru na boinne
