Development description

Change of use to the existing commercial site (total area 45,190sq. M), from a car distribution business to a waste recycling/recovery facility. The development will entail the construction of a new two - storey office building (total area of 606 sq. M, height 9.3m) a 13m tall wind turbine (2.5m diameter), flag poles and signage, an improved site entrance, entrance and exit weighbridges and a traffic control building (total area 60 sq. M height 3.4m), a waste recovery and transfer facility and canopy (total area of 4,909 sq. M, max. Height 15.6m), delivery ramp, underground water tank, oil interceptor, the provision of 115 car parking spaces and 35 hgv's parking spaces and will be landscaped throughout with planting and trees. The proposed development will also include the retention of the existing office/maintenance building, paint workshop, fuel tank, esb substation, security tower, and second site access along the western boundary of the site. The existing boundary fence/wall will be inproved along the southern and western boundaries of the site. This proposal represents phase 1 of a phased future development for the site. This application is accompanied by an environmental impact statement. The proposed development requires a waste licence from the environmental protection agency under part v of the waste management act 1996.
