• Saw: protected structure: in accordance with the provisions of part 9 of s. I. No. 600/2001, planning and development regulations 2001 (as amended), give notice of their intention to carry out the following development: conservation and site development works for an garda siochana of the historic buildings sited adjacent to walter scott house, military road, dublin
• The proposed development will comprise of remedial structural works and conservation refurbishment works for the former medical officer's house, infirmary buildings, coach house and laundry buildings. The proposed works will include the conservation repair and restoration of roof structures and finishes, historic windows, external render finishes, internal joinery, wall linings and stairs. The works will further include the treatment of timber decay throughout and the stabilisation of the structural walls, internal flooring and the damp-proofing of basement and ground floors. Associated site works include establishing surface water collection form the existing roofs and hard-standing areas, new foul drainage routes across the site, and ducting for future services. It is noted that the western part of the proposed development site is within the kilmainham conservation area and the development will materially impact the character of two protected structures - the medical officer's house (rps 8878/ registered monument du018-020293) and the infirmary (rps 8877/registered monument du018-020292). An appropriate assessment screening was undertaken for the proposed development. It concluded that there will be no potential for significant effects on any natura 2000 sites, either alone or in combination with, any other plans or projects. A preliminary examination for environmental impact assessment was undertaken for this proposed development. It concluded that as there is no real likelihood of significant effects on the environment, an eia is not required. The preliminary examination for eia and appropriate assessment screening may be inspected online at the following website: https://www. Gov. Ie/en/consultations/ any person may, within 4 weeks from the date of the notice, apply to an bord pleanala for a screening determination as to whether the development would be likely to have significant effects on the environment.
